  50. PURPOSE
  51.     KingFisher is a tool specifically designed to maintain and
  52.     search one or more databases for software.  The program permits
  53.     manual browsing, but offers a powerful expression parser through
  54.     which you can explain to KingFisher exactly what you are looking
  55.     for.
  56.  
  57.     The layout of database records for display is programmable, as
  58.     is the format used for printing and that for writing records to
  59.     a file.
  60.  
  61.     KingFisher uses a resizable GadTools window on the default
  62.     public screen or on a custom screen, offers the choice of both
  63.     smart and simple refresh windows, and supports proportional
  64.     fonts (including scalable fonts) of nearly any size.

  66.     KingFisher supports more than one database, and databases that
  67.     are larger than a single disk volume, which are spread over any
  68.     number of disks to be mounted on request.

  70.     Using advanced Client-Server Technology, KingFisher supports
  71.     multiple simultaneous users with a minimum of memory overhead
  72.     (as little as 25K) for each user.  An ARexx-based interface,
  73.     named RexxFisher, provides a BBS with the means to serve many
  74.     databases to many users!

  76.     KingFisher is localized.  Catalogs are supplied for Dansk,
  77.     Deutsch, Espanol, Nederlands, Suomi, and Svenska.  More are
  78.     expected as translators are found (hint, hint!)

  80.     Context sensitive and fully integrated AmigaGuide provides
  81.     help on gadgets, menu items, reference sections, etc. in over
  82.     150K of widely cross-linked text.

  84.     KingFisher comes with a complete, read-to-use database of
  85.     descriptions for Fred's "Fish Disks" 1-1000!

  87. REQUIREMENTS
  88.     With Fish Disk Database (1.5MB), approximately 2.2MB of harddisk
  89.     space is needed.  The program requires about 400K of memory to
  90.     run, depending on the size of the database index files and some
  91.     other factors.  Kickstart V37 (2.04) is required; V38 (2.1) is
  92.     required for localization.

  94. COMPATIBILITY
  95.     Tested with 68000 through 68040 CPUs, V37, V38, V39, and V40
  96.     system software, Picasso II graphics board.  Enforcer and
  97.     Mungwall used during testing.

  99. PRICE
  100.     Shareware registration fee is $20(US) or DM30.  A registration
  101.     site in Germany is available for European users.

  103. RESTRICTIONS
  104.     The freely distributable, unregistered (EVALUATION) version
  105.     remains at version 2.3 with an update yet to be announced.  The
  106.     unregistered version is limited to a maximum of two simultaneous
  107.     users.  Register for the full version and show your support!
